Gina Melosi

Multi-award winner Gina Melosi launched her label in A/W 2011-12 with the directional debut jewellery collection //SHATTERED fragments//. It won the acclaim of both trade and fashion press and secured the eponymous Selfridges as a stockist. The sharp, yet organic aesthetic was featured on artists such as Emeli Sandé, Robyn and Natalia Tena and in publications including WONDERLAND.

The Texas born jeweller trained at Londons Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design. Ginas background in Fine Art Photography, Studio Art, and Classical Music informs her conceptual, yet organic designs. She is inspired by the broken, overlooked, and abandoned, giving ready-made found objects new life in recycled metals and ethically sourced stones.

Her designs have launched at Paris, London, and Milan fashion weeks, in addition to shows in the Middle East (as part of the Best of British Jewellery at Jewellery Arabia), the Netherlands, and the United States. Recent press includes Cara Delevingne at the Elle Style Awards and Esquire China.

The label's latest collection LASTCHANCE/LOSTCHILD is inspired by destruction from open-pit mines in Butte, Montana, and employs raw metal materials of antiquated EcoSilver and copper. Coupled with casts of broken fragments of her grandmothers hand-me-down costume jewellery collection, these metals are intensified by heat to achieve a rainbow effect and finished with blue enamel or set with rough minerals.
